As a marketing team of a new payments brand (Plural by Pine Labs), we’re constantly striving to build brand awareness through videos, content, podcasts and the like. Events have proven to be one such platform for branding opportunity for Plural. Earlier this year, our participation in Fintech Festival India reaffirmed this belief.
Events give us the opportunity to meet face-to-face with customers and potential customers. It’s a creative way to bring visibility to the brand and to be present with other leaders in the domain. Last week, we had the chance to be lanyard sponsors at the Internet Commerce Summit in Bangalore.
What is the Internet Commerce Summit?
It is India’s largest eCommerce intelligence event bringing together new-age retailers, their businesses and leaders. Through various sessions and panel discussions, speakers from D2C companies talked about challenges and opportunities available to them to woo customers, to engage better with leads and to improve brand recall. Attendees flocked from all over India and abroad.
Who were exhibiting companies present?
- eCommerce and D2C
- Omnichannel retail
- Mar-tech
- Fintech and payments
The event drew big names such as Freshworks, Webengage, Moengage, Greenhonchos and the like.
How did Plural use this as a branding opportunity?
We looked for opportunities to maximize visibility to the Plural brand hence we opted for a lanyard sponsorship.
The sponsorship also allowed us branding opportunities at the hotel entrance, a speaking opportunity and a booth at the event lobby.
At our booth, we had a bunch of branded Plural by Pine Labs merchandise giveaways for attendees and speakers.
We had some meaningful conversations with folks at the event around powering NFT merchants, attendees and their existing payment providers, gaps in payments where Plural can step in, how Plural can help small businesses like local jewellers get online, other ideas for brand building, and more.
We even used the opportunity to conduct a little market research of our own.
Our Head of Partnerships, Ankur Gupta moderated a panel discussion with Saksham Bhagat (Co-founder & CEO, Swift Money) and Venkataramani Prakash (Sr. Director, Payments at Flywire).
The panel discussion broadly covered:
- What customers want when it comes to seamless transactions and flawless banking
- Key trends looking into 2023
- The role regulators currently play in driving the future of payments
- Cash vs contactless vs crypto?
- What next for consumer payments?
- Emerging strategies and technologies which businesses can adopt to serve their customers
- The Digital Rupee and the impact on businesses
Look out for the full session video. Hope you’re subscribed to our YouTube channel.
